Wedding Guest Tree

Here is a great idea for you bozos: Thumb Print Wedding Guest Book I designed these posters as party favors for my sister's wedding , but had one set aside.  I asked each guest to ink a finger in an ink pad (either green or purple- the couples' favorite colors) and sign their names by their stamp as a gift to the couple.   I even was able to get the world famous Nakatomi Tim in Austin to print these at his shop!

UCB Hire ME!

In an effort to get a gig as a video maker at UCB Digital Comedy Projects here in Los Angeles, I created an entire Video Job Application to stand out from the rest of the applicants!   I've never worked so hard on a job application, but I have never wanted a particular job so much before.   What better way to apply for a video maker gig than to make a video, right?   I know applying for a job on line is like throwing your resume down a hole, but now I have to get someone to come over and LOOK in that hole! It has not worked yet... but maybe I have not tweeted at them, facebooked them, or other wise harassed them enough.  That is the best way to get attention... right?  Please watch, like and holler at the UCB to get them to hire me!

Under $20 Glitter Shoe Re-do How-to

Bloody Zombie Shoesies! When Elvia Oliverria, genius SPFX MU Artist, asked me to be her Zombie Dorothy in the Downtown LA Zombie Makeup Fashion show and Creature Exhibit this October,  I said  "Sure! I 'll make the Ruby Slippers!"  And it turned out to be way easy.  I did high heels  in red to fit the Dorothy theme,  but am itching to try this on sneakers and boots with multiple colors of glitter! I want ALL of my shoes to be glitter shoes!  And you can do it too!  Here is a simple step by step tutorial of how to make your own glitter shoes. Materials: shoes (Any shoes that fit! I found old ones in my closet, but would have gone to Goodwill if I hadn't find any) ModPodge (at least 2-3 of small bottles, or one big bottle. Dollar Store sells little bottles for $1 each, or Michaels sells bigger bottles for ~$5) Brush (cheaper the better because the ModPodge will ruin them.  I used sponge brushes and liked them, but bet ...

LAST day to Vote!!

Have you voted for Heart of Art Gallery yet?  THIS IS THE LAST DAY TO VOTE!!! We do not need your $, just your clicks! PLEASE VOTE RIGHT NOW!!! Vote HERE! We have the chance to win a $100,000 from the LA2050 Grant Challenge and the Goldhirsch Foundation to rebuild our art gallery after we were forced to close due to harassment. Unfortunately, the harassment only serves to underline why a space like this is so necessary in South LA. Read about it in the LAist here. Heart of Art Gallery is a conscious space run by women in South LA that provides a safe, unfiltered space for the creation and presentation of art made by women, youth, and members of the LGBTQIA community. I put together this proposal with the hope that I can help the girls who inspired me to try.  Ms.3 and the CamCreature have done so much for me and all of the female and LGBTQIA artists of Los Angeles.  Heart of Art Gallery is a necessary thing, and I dearly hope i...

RIP David McKnight - Saxophone Legend

Dedra, David McKnight, & me  at a texas state band party (circa January 2005) Rest In Peace David McKnight.  We lived one floor apart for two years and went to marching band practice every day of every football season together, but over time and distance, we lost touch.  It took 4 months for me to find out that he died.   David McKnight was a brilliant saxophone player born March 20, 1986 in Houston Texas, who accidentally drowned late in the night of June 27, 2015 in the very river we spent so many nights of our formative years playing and frolicking in.   I was lucky enough to march with him in the Texas State Band, and live directly below him at the Meadows Apartment Complex, in San Marcos, Texas.  We shared music; a connection that can mean more than conversation sometimes. I would lend the guys upstairs my vinyl records, and David and Xavier would return the LPs a month later, along with a cassette tape ...
